Theater Film & Shorts

The poems of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow influenced early American national identity and are still preserved through phrases we use today. Working closely with the National Park Service, we produced an interpretive film about the history of the home and Longfellow's life. Excerpts from his poems are brought to life with playful scenes by award-winning animator Pat Bradley and composer Mark Orton. An additional short film follows a local family as they explore their connections to the home and other Cambridge historic sites through their enslaved ancestors. An educational short film showcases the beauty of the Charles River using Longfellow's "To the River Charles" and contrasts it with a response poem written by a Boston Youth Poet.
